The establishment of PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Persero) is an important part of the history of the nation and homeland of Indonesia. This history began in 1845 when the nationalization of NV Assurantie Maatschappij de nationalization of NV Assurantie Maatschappij de Nederlander, a Dutch-owned General Insurance company, and Bloom Vander, a British General Insurance company based in Jakarta.

In its historic journey, through the Minister of Finance Decree No.764/MK/IV/12/1972 dated December 9, 1972, the Indonesian government decided to merge between PT Asuransi Bendasraya and PT Internasional Internasional Underwriters (UIU) to become PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Persero) as a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) engaged in the General Insurance business. The approval of the merger was subsequently confirmed by Mohamad Ali’s Notarial Deed Number 1 dated June 2, 1973.

As one of the state-owned enterprises that has brilliant business performance in Indonesia, all shares of PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Persero) are owned by the Republic of Indonesia. Moreover, time travel has proven that PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Persero) or known as Jasindo Insurance, does have a capable, long and mature experience in the field of General Insurance even since the colonial era. This experience provides its own pioneering value for the existence and growth of Jasindo Insurance’s performance to date, so as to succeed in gaining public trust both at home and abroad.

After the implementation of the nationalization and indigenous policies, then an initiative emerged to optimize the function and role of the two national companies in the face of opposition and at the same time fill the independence era of the Republic of Indonesia.
